Abstract. The field studies in the Nizhny Novgorod Region identified two different life forms of Salix myrsinifolia Salisb: the small tree form and the aeroxyl shrub form. Ontogeny of each form from seed germination to senescence and dying off in the senile state was described in detail. The quantitative values of the main biomorphological parameters wre determined.
